CEO of the binca group
Mag. Oliver Fritsch
Oliver Fritsch has many years’ entrepreneurial experience in the fish and seafood sector and works with customers and business partners from the retail, foodservice and industrial sectors throughout Europe and beyond. Together with his team, he heads the management of the binca group in St. Pölten. From here, the group oversees its companies and shareholdings. Operational responsibility for customers and results lies with the individual companies.
The binca brand has been around for decades. From the very beginning, it has brought together people and companies who share the same passion for fish and seafood. In 2012, companies from Germany, Austria and Vietnam joined forces to form the binca group, with concept cool as one of the founding members. This enabled us to build up the private-label fish and seafood business from the ground up.
With the programme "We’re reinventing ourselves!" (2020–2024), we took another step forward: in 2020, we acquired the binca brand through an asset deal, making the binca group an Austrian company. We invested in our own production facility and restructured our business model along the value chain. In October 2022, together with SPAR Austria, we opened the new binca manufaktur in Perschling near St. Pölten in Lower Austria and began producing fresh fish.
In May 2026, SPAR Austria acquired a majority stake in the fresh fish production facility in Perschling – a further step in our long-standing partnership. The binca group retains a stake in the business. For us, this also marks a milestone in the further development of our business model: we are now focusing entirely on managing the value chain – without our own production facilities
Over the course of a lifetime, a person consumes around 100,000 meals. This highlights the responsibility borne by the food industry. We want to play our part in this responsibility – with commitment, care and the ambition to do a little better every day. With our programme "Shaping SMART food solutions for tomorrow", we are further developing our value proposition.
Our corporate culture guides the way we act, make decisions and work together – both internally and with customers and partners. It is based on two pillars: the fundamental principles of our work and the values we derive from our binca brand.
